Webwag @ Firefox 2
Oct 31st
Dear Firefox 2 users
The latest release of Firefox helps you to quickly subscribe to any RSS feed reader. From any blog or any site you’re visiting, when Firefox 2 detects an available feed, then an orange icon appears on the right hand side of the URL (click here to see a screenshot)
Clicking on this orange icon opens the Firefox feed readers list by default. Webwag is not in the default configuration which has been chosen by the Firefox developers (except in Webwagstan and Webwagcity
).
Many Webwag fans sent us emails to know if something can be done. We have found the solution for you !!
Click here to add Webwag as one of the default solution to the built-in Firefox feed reader
If you opt-in the box “Always use Webwag to subscribe to feeds” this eases your Webwag life, each time you’ll click on the orange icon you’ll automatically add that feed to your Webwag account.
PS: As well, Webwag can be defined as the Firefox RSS reader if you click on the Webwag logo, and then on “Webwag as your Firefox RSS reader” in the Premium menu, below the Feed directory.
The Webwag Factory is launched ! (API, Developer’s Desk, ‘Add to Webwag’ affiliation button…)
Oct 13th
After one month only, the Webwag APIs, the OPML file import and the “Add to Webwag” syndication button are there at www.factory.webwag.com. Also go there directly by clicking on the Webwag logo in the home page.
The Webwag Factory:
for users: the right place to add content
for developers: the room to find our API and access to your Desk
The Webwag Desk : click on the “Developers” tab in the Factory.
The Webwag Desk is for he developers community what eBay is for the online vendors: a real marketplace. Create your account, fill your form (your pic, blog link, your email adress to get paid on your Paypal account, resume link, etc…). Then play with our API. In a second step the Webwag team will validate your widget. Once one hundred Webwag signed-up members have installed your widget for at least two weeks, then you get rewarded and paid $50 on your Paypal account.
After only two days, Webwag turns multimedia. Many thanks to the first developers:
ThomsDEV for the webTV,
Ben for the HotorNot,
Amba for the Snaparazzi widget,
and Eric Jally for the famous BlogBar.
Enjoy and let’s keep innovating all together !!

Webwag inks a strategic partnership with Yahoo! and launches the first ever search inside my “personal wide web” feature (Press Release)
Oct 6th
Webwag, a personalizable start page service in the web 2.0 move, launched in September in Europe and the US, inks a strategic partnership to launch the personalized search service with Yahoo, one web search leader and inventor of the keyword-based sponsorlink ads.
With its mini web windows called “widgets”, the Webwag service helps users to design their internet start page such as an universal mash-up with news and blogs feeds of their choice, check several emails accounts in a same widget, listen podcasts with an iPod skin player, show local weather forecast, manage alerts, read maps and to install all the available web 2.0 online services in general.
Thanks to the search solutions of Yahoo, Webwag users are offered a unique and exclusive search experience: through one single query to search both inside “my personal web”, that is sites and blogs installed as a widget by the user himself, and the world wide web as a whole. In addition, the sponsorlinks of the tens of thousands US and Europe advertisers of Yahoo Search Marketing will be also displayed to the Webwag users.
The agreement covers US, Canada and the following European countries: UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain. It will soon be extended to other continents.
The CEO founder of Webwag, Franck Poisson says “Webwag helps users to personalize their start page on the internet, especially with the content they can install there. Now is available a search tool that queries their personal portal content in addition to the web as a whole. Both the world wide web and the so-called “personal wide web” are gathered inside Webwag and searchable through the Yahoo search engine.”
Stéphane Bismuth, Director Business Développement Southern Europe at Yahoo says “We are delighted to offer Webwag users the Yahoo! Search experience and to syndicate our sponsorlinks to an innovative service that combines both the content personalization with the web search personalization”.

Webwag 2.0 to be released…
Oct 6th
As noticed today by our loyal users, some of you may have lost their Webwag cookie, and had to log in again. As well, the service has been interrupted for about 2 minutes today. Well, to be honest with you, we f***ed up, because we move fast and sometimes a few bugs turn nightmare. But we are working very very hard to offer a better Webwag.
But above all, these bugs are due to the launch of a new Webwag to come over this week-end. This new Webwag 2.0 will dramatically improve your web experience, since your #1 experience is search…
By then, and as of today, we improve your Webwag with two long-awaited features:
OPML file import: click on the logo
Loading speed improvement
Read/Unread status: somewhere next week
Stay tuned on Webwag this week-end to see many other services to come…
